Safety Recall Issued for Some 2018 Mazda CX-5 Models

Once in a while, there comes a point when Mazda recalls are necessary, and in this case, it involves a select number of 2018 Mazda CX-5 SUVs.

According to insidemazda.mazdausa.com, “Due to an inappropriate manufacturing process during the production of certain curtain air bags, the airbags may not unfold properly during deployment. This may result in an increased risk of injury to a passenger in a crash where the curtain air deploys during a rollover event.” A Part 573 was filed with NHTSA by Mazda North American Operations regarding 682 vehicles that are affected, but as of June 22, no accidents or injuries regarding the issue had been reported.
