The 2014 Mazda6 incredible attention to detail is unsurpassed in the mid-size sport sedan segment!  From the signature KODO "wings" setting off the grille and masterfully linking the headlights to create a purposeful expression befitting Mazda's flagship, all the way to the LED rear combination lights that produce a circular lighting signature mimicking the effect up front, the 2014 Mazda6 is truly captivating.  The LED daytime running lights along the top edge of the headlight housing form a visual extension of the "wings" that leads into the light-guiding ring surrounding the headlights.  This unmistakable design cue is the first of its kind to be features on a production vehicle's headlights.  The sleek and sporty design of the LED running lights and rear combination lights will get you noticed everywhere you go!  Plus, the LEDs shine brighter, last longer and use significantly less energy than conventional bulbs.  The LED daytime running lights are standard on Grand Touring models while the LED rear combination lights are standard on all models.

Satin-chrome-finish trunk molding links the rear combination lights and visually tightens the rear view.  Available on the Grand Touring models is a rear lip spoiler that is artfully integrated into the trunk lid instead of sitting atop it.  The 2014 Mazda6 is available in six available awe-inspiring colors including Snowflake White Pearl Mica, Liquid Silver Metallic, Soul Red Metallic, Jet Black Mica, Meteor Gray Mica and Blue Reflex Mica.

Another very impressive feature on the 2014 Mazda6 are the Rain-Sensing Windshield Wipers.  The sensor on the windshield detects rain and automatically turns on wipers at the very first sight of rain.  This will conveniently allow you to stay completely focused on the road during inclement weather.  This feature is standard on the Grand Touring models and available on the Touring model with the Technology Package.

The wheel choices for the 2014 Mazda6 are very impressive!  The Sport model comes equipped with 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels while the Touring and Grand Touring models ride on large 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with unique-silver paint on the Grand Touring.

The beautifully sculpted exterior of the 2014 Mazda6 hints at what awaits you on the inside!  The engineers at Mazda comprehensively evaluated and analyzed customer feedback on the craftsmanship of the previous Mazda6 which allowed them to make the interior of the 2014 Mazda6 even better by blocking noise paths in certain spots and redirecting it into areas that absorb it!  The intuitive layout of the driver-oriented cockpit pulls all primary controls where the driver can operate them without moving out of the driving position.  The standard tilt and telescopic steering column helps provide the perfect driving position while the hinged, organ-type accelerator pedal keeps the driver's heel fixed through the pedals entire range of travel for easier operation and the most precise control.  Soft white lettering and gauge illumination provides the easiest readability while the forward visibility is excellent whether you are looking straight ahead or cornering.

Mazda's interior designers focused on heightening the overall experience by improving the shape, texture and appearance of everything in the cabin.  Premium soft-touch materials used liberally in areas occupants are bound to touch - parts of the instrument panel, meter housing and upper door trim.  Concave contours can be found wherever hard and soft materials meet, giving the impression that the harder parts are sinking into the softer ones.  Also, available paddle shifters fit the driver's hands naturally thanks to a shape that's been painstakingly perfected.

The Georgia heat will definitely need a powerful air conditioning system, which the 2014 Mazda6 has!  The sport models are equipped with a manual air conditioner with pollen filter while the Touring and Grand Touring models take a bit of a step up with the dual-zone automatic climate control system with pollen filter.  This system automatically adjusts cabin temperature, airflow and fan mode to maintain the driver and front passengers' preselected comfort settings.  Rear seat vents in the center console will ensure rear-seat passengers stay comfortable.  A display screen located directly above the controls improve system status recognition and features soft white lighting to match the gauge cluster.

The hassle of accessing your vehicle just got a whole lot easier!  Introducing the Mazda Advanced Keyless Entry System with Start Button.  This will allow you to lock or unlock the doors and trunk and start the engine without ever having to take the key fob from your pocket or purse.  The Advanced key utilizes a radio frequency that is recognized within a little under a 3-foot range (31 inches) of the vehicle to operate the various entry features.  It will even save individual driver's power-seating positions and can even roll down windows or open the sunroof!  This system includes dealer programmable auto-locking features and is standard on Grand Touring models and available on the Touring models with the Technology Package.

Premium, refined seating comes standard on the 2014 Mazda6!  The sports-car-derived front seat feature a clean, ergonomic design.  Its contoured shape combines with a hip support plate in the seat-back to distribute body pressure over a broader area for improved comfort and support.  The seat-back surface was even thoughtfully recessed to increase knee clearance for rear-seat occupants.  Portions of each front seat feature perforated leather on leather-trimmed models and high-grade upholstery on those models sporting the fabric.  All models come equipped standard with cloth-trimmed in black or sand except for the leatherette-trimmed seats in black or sand on the Touring models and the leather-trimmed seats in black or almond on the Grand Touring models.  The Grand Touring models boast heated front seats with 3 levels that help increase comfort in the cold weather, along with 2-position driver's seat memory system to accommodate multiple drivers.  Storage is another big plus on the 2014 Mazda6 with the 60/40 split fold-down rear seat allows for simple and convenient stowage of extra-long items, such as skis or surfboards.

Every seat is  the best seat in the house when it comes to the 2014 Mazda6!  In this day and age, an exhilarating vehicle has to be one that does much more than just thrill its occupants through corners.  Occupants need to be connected at all times, which means heart bumping entertainment even at a standstill.  Thanks to Mazda6's entertainment options, you are in luck!

Standard six-speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3-Compatible stereo system is standard on all models.  This system is capable of playing MP3-encoded CDs - allowing
several dozen songs to be stored on a single recordable compact disc.  Standard auxiliary-audio input jack allows drivers to plug in practically any portable MP3 player - such as in iPod - to play audio over the speakers.  The standard USB audio input allows files on a USB device or an iPod to be controlled through the vehicle's audio controls, giving the driver full control over their entire music collection while on the go.  Steering-wheel-mounted audio controls enhance the driving convenience and experience and is equipped on all models.  Automatic Level Contol (ACL) changes the volume based on vehicle speed; that is, as the vehicle goes faster, the volume increases to compensate for road noise.

The 2014 Mazda6 features several advanced connectivity additions that will make your trip exciting and informational!  The Pandora® internet radio compatibility provides access to hundreds of thousands of songs, courtesy of a connected smartphone.  Pandora enables you to create customized stations or playlists based on their own personal preferences.  The Short Message Service (SMS) text message audio delivery and reply allows text messages to be sent to connected devices and then downloaded, displayed on the audio system faceplate and played through the vehicle's speakers.  The driver can then respond via the touch-screen controls, choosing a variety of pre-programmed messages.  E911 Automatic Emergency Notification relays vehicle location to a 911 operator during an emergency using a connected Bluetooth-enabled smartphone to call for help.  Also, audio menu voice command allows you to control audio functions using the power of your voice!  These amazing features are all standard on Sport models equipped with automatic transmission and all Touring and Grand Touring models.

The 2014 Mazda6 is the latest vehicle in the Mazda lineup to benefit from a complete SKYACTIV® TECHNOLGY makeover, including all-new gasoline and diesel engine options, a new body structure and a new platform!  SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGY represents a "clean sheet" approach to the design of the automobile - which is, Mazda has proven that fuel economy, low emissions and outstanding driving performance can truly coexist in sound harmony.  Mazda engineers pushed to achieve what they call the "100-metere premium", meaning prospective buyers should recognize the Mazda difference after driving a mere 100 meters.  They then turned their attention to consistency - in acceleration, braking, steering feel and even the way the engine sounds.  The result is a sports sedan that responds faithfully to the driver's every command.

The 2014 Mazda6 is equipped with adrenaline pumping excitement under the hood.  The SKYACTIV®-G 2.5-Liter DOHC 16-Valve 4-Cylinder engine with VVT is standard on all models at launch.  This engine dishes out 184hp and 185 lb-ft of torque all while achieving up to 30 MPGs!  This engine utilizes an advanced direct-injection system that injects fuel directly into the cylinder to improve fuel efficiency and power.  Variable Valve Timing (VVT) adjusts intake camshaft timing for strong low-end torque and excellent off-the-line acceleration without sacrificing horsepower.

You will have two sporty 6-speed transmissions to choose from in the 2014 Mazda6!  The SKYACTIV®-MT 6-Speed manual transmission on the Sport and Touring models offers smooth, precise shifting while the dual-mass flywheel minimizes engine speed fluctuations for improved NVH.  The SKYACTIV®-Drive 6-speed Sport automatic transmission provides the smoothness of a CVT, the quick and connected feel of a dual-clutch and the fuel efficiency of a manual transmission.  Electronically controlled, with manual-shifting capability via the shifter's manual mode or the steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters on Grand Touring models.  Active Adaptive Shift (AAS) control can learn driver' habits and customize shift programming accordingly.  This transmission is standard on Grand Touring models at launch.

The 2014 Mazda6 features the Mazda Intelligent Energy Loop (I-ELOOP) - the world's first capacitor-based regenerative braking system!  This system helps to recapture energy that would otherwise be lost during deceleration.  As you take your foot off the accelerator, electricity is generated by the variable-voltage alternator and used to charge a high-capacity Electric Double-Layer Capacitor (EDLC).  When you accelerate after a stop, the system uses electricity stored in the EDLC rather than the alternator to power electrical components such as the headlights, A/C, etc.  This eliminates the alternator's electrical draw on the engine during acceleration, letting the engine use more of its available power and operate more efficiently.  Available on Grand Touring models equipped with the Advanced Package.

Another great feature is the Hill Launch Assist (HLA) which briefly maintains brake pressure on an incline or decline while you transition from the brake pedal to the accelerator.  This system supports smooth launches and helps prevent vehicle rollback.  This system engages when the vehicle is at a stop on an incline or decline of two degrees or more.  This is standard on all models.

The 2014 Mazda6 features a very dependable suspension system.  Newly adopted Macpherson strut front suspension allows each wheel to react individually to road conditions, providing maximum tire contact with the road with the help of the rear multilink suspension.  Front and rear stabilizer bars help reduce body roll while cornering, keeping wheels planted to enhance grip and traction.  This is standard on all model.

Last, but certainly not least, are the power-assisted disc brakes with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution.  The 11.7-inch ventilated front brakes and 10.9-inch solid rear disc brakes provide top-notch braking power and stopping distance.  The EBD monitors vehicle weight distribution to determine how much force to apply to the front and rear brakes, resulting in more responsive stopping power, based on road conditions, speed and load.  EBD also helps decrease brake wear and temperature stress while increasing stability and pedal force.  Standard on all models.  Some safety features linked to the brakes include the 4-wheel Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) and Brake Assist (BA).  ABS applies the brakes hundreds of times per second, preventing wheel lockup to help maintain steering control in emergency braking situations.  Brake Assist (BA) identifies emergency braking situations and hydraulically supplements brake pressure to help drivers apply maximum braking pressure more quickly, minimizing braking distances.

Safety in the 2014 Mazda6 is just as much about helping prevent accidents in the first place as it is about protecting occupants when they occur.  The Mazda6 does both, courtesy of the all-new i-ACTIVSENSE suite of active safety systems as well as a host of passive safety features.  Mazda is acutely aware of its surroundings, but you wouldn't expect anything less from a Mazda

Six standard air bags come standard!  The advanced front air bags with seat belt-use, passenger-weight and driver's seat-position sensors help protect in case of a front-end collision.  The front side-impact air bags provide additional protection in certain side impacts and side-impact air curtains help protect front and outboard rear passengers in the event of a side-impact collision.

Some active safety features include Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Traction Control System (TCS).  DSC modulates the engine and brakes when over- or under-steer is detected, helping keep the vehicle on its intended path while TCS detects wheelspin, then reduces engine power to help improve traction in slippery conditions.  Another very impressive active safety feature is the Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (BSM with RCTA).  At speeds of about 20 mph or more, BSM uses radar technology to monitor the vehicle's blind spot.  An icon on the side-view mirror illuminates when vehicles enter the detection area.  If the turn signal is activated while vehicles are in the detection area, a chime sounds, alerting you.  BSM can be deactivated by a switch to the left of the steering wheel.  When backing out of a parking spot at speeds of about 6mph or less, RCTA uses the BSM sensors to detect vehicles approaching from both sides of the vehicle and alert you using the same icon and chime, plus a warning in the back-up camera display.  RCTA helps reduce the likelihood of low-speed collisions when backing up your 2014 Mazda6.  This feature is standard on Touring and Grand Touring models.

Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) is another amazing active safety feature that uses cameras to keep you and your occupants safe.  This system utilizes a forward-sensing camera mounted near the interior rear-view mirror to detect lane markings at speeds of about 41mph or more.  It will then flash a warning light in the instrument cluster and sounds an alarm to notify the driver that the vehicle may be deviating from its lane.  Audio system speakers emit an audible warning on the side of the vehicle in which the system determines the vehicle may be straying, allowing the driver to take corrective action to stay on course.  This accounts for turn signal usage, steering wheel input and acceleration to prevent false alarms.  LDWS can be deactivated by a switch to the left of the steering wheel.  Available on Grand Touring models equipped with the Advanced Package.

The Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) with Forward Obstruction Warning (FOW) allows you to set one of four following distances via intuitive steering-wheel-mounted controls.  This system uses a radar sensor behind the grille to detect radio waves reflected off a vehicle or an obstruction.  It accelerates or decelerates the vehicle in conjunction with the vehicle ahead.  If the vehicle is approaching the preceding vehicle too quickly or an obstruction is detected, FOW alerts the driver via a continuous beep and a warning in the instrument cluster.  Personalization settings allow the driver to toggle the feature on or off and tailor the warning distance and volume.  MRCC helps to maintain a steady, safe distance from the vehicle ahead at speeds of about 19mph or more and helps reduce leg fatigue on long trips.  At speeds of 10 mph or more, FOW helps alert the driver if their vehicle may hit a vehicle or obstruction ahead.  This feature is available on Grand Touring models equipped with the MRCC/FOW Package at launch and the Advanced Package later in the model year.

The 2014 Mazda6 also features the Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) System.  A near-infrared laser sensor at the top of the windshield scans the road a short distance ahead of the vehicle at speeds of about 2 to 18 mph.  It readies the brakes for full stopping power when the system determines an imminent collision with the preceding vehicle.  It automatically applies the brakes if you don't initiate braking and provides fast, firm braking pressure if the driver presses the brake pedal.  This system helps to prevent or mitigate low-speed impacts with the vehicle ahead.  Standard on Grand Touring models and available on Touring models equipped with the Technology Package.

High Beam Control (HBC) System is available on the Grand Touring models that are equipped with the Advanced Package.  This system uses the Lane Departure Warning System's camera to monitor the road ahead during night driving.  At speeds of about 18 mph or more, the headlights high beams are automatically activated if there are no vehicles in front of the vehicle or approaching in the opposite direction.  When the system detects oncoming headlights or preceding taillights, it automatically switches to low beams,  It also does so when driving on well-lit roads or when the vehicle is driven at speeds of about 12 mph or less.  It maximizes high beam usage for optimum nighttime visibility and eliminates the need for the driver to manually switch between high and low beams.

Finally the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) will alert you if your tire pressure is too low.  This increases safety by helping to prevent tire blowouts due to low pressure.  The warning light remains illuminated and a beep is heard when tire pressure is low in one or more tires.  A warning light will flash when there is a system malfunction.  Standard on all models.
