In a successful attempt to keep the MX-5 Miata light on its feet, and amazingly nimble, many of its key components like the front suspension arms, rear brake calipers, and hood and trunk lid (on the soft top model) are composed of lightweight aluminum alloy.

THE "Z-FOLD"
The "Z Fold" Soft Top appeal is a beautiful thing and it is standard on Mazda MX-5 Miata. It's single latch and spring assist allows lowering in two seconds with one-handed operation. When the top is down, your trunk is not compromised whatsoever. There is also a nice glass rear window. Available top covers are black vinyl on the Sport and Touring models and black or beige cloth on the Grand Touring.
WHERE DID IT GO?
In 12 seconds flat, the 2011 Mazda MX-5 performs a disappearing act even Houdini couldn't figure out! With one push of a button, the Power Retractable Hard Top goes from zero to gone in an impressive 12 seconds flat by storing the top neatly behind the seats under the special hard tonneau cover. There is also a rear glass window with built in defroster for those cold, frosty mornings. The body-colored hard top weighs less than 80 pounds and surprisingly doesn't affect trunk space when lowered.
The 2011 Mazda MX-5 Miata does not sacrifice abundant comfort and convenience for the sake of the thrilling performance it delivers. Standard features like a 3-spoke leather wrapped steering wheel with tilt, padded door and center console armrest, and silver finish interior trim on the gauge rings, air-vent bezels, door handles, shift-plate bezel and steering wheel make for a very luxurious feel. The standard 6-way adjustable driver's bucket seat with a height adjuster settles you right into the perfect seating position. The Grand Touring, premium, heated seats are standard with five heat settings. The silver-trimmed tachometer, coolant temperature and oil pressure gauges keep fine-tuned with the powerful engine.
Steering wheel and gear shift placement are the result of bio-sensor tests that studied driver interaction and measured muscle tension during enthusiastic driving, all to deliver the best driving experience possible. Standard on the Touring, Grand Touring, and available on the sport is the leather-wrapped steering also comes standard with built-in controls for audio and cruise control keep your attention focused on the road.
Automatic climate control air conditioning standard on the Grand Touring automatically adjusts cabin temperature, airflow and fan mode to maintain the driver's comfort settings. Standard on the Grand Touring and also on the Touring models is the Auto-dimming rear view mirror with HomeLink which automatically adjusts to compensate for bright lights t night. The HomeLink technology memorizes your garage and gate opener signals for laid-back operation.
THE MX-5 MAKES YOU THE DIRECTOR
With such an exciting ride, Mazda had to be sure to add a sound system that matched the performance. On the Sport models, a standard 6-speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3-compatible stereo system keeps you jamming down the road. The Touring models are equipped with a 6-speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3-compatible with a 6-disc CD changer built in to the dash to handle your favorite CD's. Now we saved the best for last with the Bose® Centerpoint surround sound 7-speaker system with MP3/WMA playback capability and AudioPilot®, in-dash 6-disc CD changer, auxiliary-audio input jack, and steering wheel mounted controls, all standard on the Grand Touring models. AudioPilot® compensates for cabin noise by adjusting the audio volume and quality relative to engine speed. Steering wheel mounted audio controls enhance the convenience and safety and are also standard on the Touring, and automatic-transmission equipped Sport models; available on the manual-transmission Sport models in the convenience package. In addition, the in-dash 6-disc CD changer can be added to the base audio system as a dealer-installed accessory on the Sport models.

Other great features included in this package are power door locks, silver seatback bars, fog lights, cruise control, steering wheel-mounted cruise and audio controls, and passenger one-touch-down window.
